Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 1/8-inch)
  • 2 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat a large baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add onions and a pinch of salt; sauté until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  3. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish; season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Top with half the caramelized onions and half the cheese.
