Ingredients

Scale

24 ladyfingers (savoiardi)

500 grams mascarpone cheese

250 milliliters heavy cream

1 cup (240 ml) strong espresso coffee

100 grams granulated sugar

30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

Brew espresso and stir in sugar until dissolved. Allow to cool.

Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Combine mascarpone cheese and remaining sugar until smooth, then fold in whipped cream gently.

Dip ladyfingers briefly in the cooled espresso and layer them in a dish.

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers; repeat with another layer.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (overnight preferred). Dust with cocoa before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating coffee liqueur into the espresso.

Try substituting mascarpone with cream cheese or ricotta for different textures.
