Ingredients
- Chicken thighs: 500g, diced
- Soy sauce: 3 tbsp
- Gochujang: 2 tbsp
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger: 1 tbsp, grated
- Brown sugar: 1 tbsp
- Green onions: 2 stalks, chopped
- Bao buns: 8 pre-made
- Vegetable oil: 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken
- Combine soy sauce, gochujang, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar in a bowl. Add chicken, mix well, and let marinate for 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Cook the Chicken
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken pieces in batches for 6-8 minutes until golden and fully cooked (165°F/75°C). Set aside.
- Steam the Bao Buns
- Steam pre-made bao buns in a bamboo or metal steamer lined with parchment paper for about 8 minutes until soft and fluffy.
- Assemble the Bao
- Fill each steamed bao with cooked chicken. Garnish with green onions and any additional toppings like pickled vegetables or spicy mayo. Serve immediately.
