- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3–4 tbsp ice water
- 3 medium apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water, optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll chilled dough into a rough circle (about 12 inches). Transfer to the baking sheet.
- Toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; arrange in the center of the dough. Fold edges over apples.
- Brush edges with egg wash if desired. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
