  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup strawberry jam
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks and vanilla; mix until combined.
  3. Gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms. Wrap in plastic and chill for at least 1 hour.
  4. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Cut into heart shapes using cookie cutters, cutting out small hearts from half of them.
  5. Place cookies on parchment-lined sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Once cooled, spread strawberry jam on solid heart cookies, top with cut-out cookies, and dust with powdered sugar.
