Ingredients

Scale

1 lb lean ground beef

4 large bell peppers (green or yellow)

1 medium onion

1 cup shredded provolone or cheddar cheese

Olive oil

Salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Halve the bell peppers and remove seeds. Chop the onion finely.

In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat.

Season the meat mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir in half of the cheese.

Fill each pepper half with the beef mixture and top with remaining cheese.

Place in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.

Notes

Feel free to add mushrooms or spinach to the filling for extra flavor and nutrition.

For a spicy kick, incorporate red pepper flakes into the meat mixture.
