1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

8 ounces spaghetti (or your favorite pasta)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

4 cloves garlic (minced)

Juice and zest of 1 large lemon

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

Boil water in a large pot, adding salt, and cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of starchy water before draining.

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add shrimp and red pepper flakes. Cook until shrimp turn pink.

Add lemon juice and reserved pasta water to the skillet, stirring to combine. Toss in cooked spaghetti and mix well.
