Description

This Black Pepper Chicken features tender, bite-sized chicken pieces in a savory, peppery sauce with crisp bell peppers. It’s a quick and delicious dish perfect for weeknight dinners, bursting with bold flavors.

 


Ingredients

  • Chicken Breast: 1 lb (450 g), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper: 2–3 tsp
  • Soy Sauce: 3 tbsp, low-sodium
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Cornstarch: 1 tbsp, mixed with water
  • Bell Pepper: 1 medium, sliced
  • Vegetable Oil: 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken
    • Combine soy sauce, black pepper, minced garlic, and cornstarch slurry in a bowl. Add chicken pieces, toss to coat, and marinate for 15–30 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 5–6 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Bell Peppers
    • In the same skillet, sauté bell peppers for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  4. Combine and Serve
    • Return chicken to the skillet, pour in the reserved marinade, and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve hot with steamed rice.
